Biography (short)


She was born in Athens.

She studied musicology in Thessaloniki and Athens, piano, violin, church organ, Byzantine music and

composition in Athens and Paris (Μaster of Music in Composition).

She has taught courses and master classes in Greece from 1980-2004.

She has composed Solo works, Aster, 1993, Megan & Morag, 1999, Chamber works Hue-Kue, 2003,

Epea Pteroenda, 2004, The Hyperborean Tear, 2007  & Operas The Eagle’s Tear, 2011, The Birds by Aristophanes, 2012,

Sotoba Komachi. Voyage in Moonlight, 2017.

She has also composed for ancient drama, for theatre and for the cinema.

Her works have been performed in Greece, France and some of them were included on three CD labels.

Her opera The Eagle’s Tear, 2011, is broadcasted in 2012 by the «Hellenic Parliament Television»  

and is released on DVD. Her opera Sotoba Komachi. Voyage in Moonlight, 2017, based on the Kanami Kiyogutsu's

play Sotoba Komachi, was filmed in 2021 by Stella Arkenti.

    Her work has been selected for the official concerts of the International Computer Music Conference

(ICMC'97 Thessaloniki, Greece) and awarded at the Athens Megaron Workshops, Athens 1999.

     Her works have been performed in Greece, France, and some of them were included on three CD labels.

She has written the essay Aspects of Music of God and Men, 1999.

Over the last ten years she worked on:

a) Music drama research from ancient Greek tragedy-comedy and Byzantine music

to the 20th century contemporary opera.

b) Composition of operas.
